LADY ILEENE ROAD
TARBERT
This
2 BEDROOM UPPER HALF of a VICTORIAN VILLA sits high above the village, enjoying glorious southerly views over East Loch Fyne and beyond to the Cowal Peninsula, embracing views of the harbour and village, including the famous landmark of Bruce’s Castle.
Tarbert itself is about 100 miles from Glasgow, 37 miles north of Campbeltown and 14 miles south of Lochgilphead where the Administrative Headquarters of Argyll & Bute Council are located at Kilmory on the outskirts of that town. Commuting therefore to Lochgilphead does not present any great problem. 5 miles south of Tarbert there is the ferry terminal to Islay at Kennacraig and 5 miles further to the east there is the ferry terminal at Claonaig for the service to Lochranza on the Island of Arran. Portavadie, on the Cowal peninsula, can be reached in 30 minutes by a ferry, which runs from a terminal in the village.
The village has a full range of local facilities including Primary and Higher Schools, Doctors, Dentists, hotels, restaurants, Post Office, Bank, various shops, and a small supermarket. Tarbert is an ancient fishing port blessed with a naturally safe harbour. It is particularly well known as a yachting haven and is renowned for hosting the Scottish Series Sailing Regatta annually. It also boasts a Bowling & Tennis Club and there is a challenging 9-hole golf course about 1¼ miles to the west of the village on the road to Kilberry.
The charming accommodation exudes character, and briefly comprises a hall, sitting room, breakfasting kitchen, 2 double bedrooms, study/home office area and bathroom. It also benefits from white meter heating.
