Ardrishaig has a primary school, local supermarket, pubs and restaurants and a small variety of shops. Lochgilphead, 2 miles to the North, is the main administrative town in the area and has a larger range of amenities including secondary school, supermarket, swimming pool, hospital, sports centre and a range of smaller, independent shops. The surrounding area is also a haven for sailors, golfers, walkers, cyclists (the Crinan Canal runs from below St Clair Road), bird watchers and anglers to name but a few. There are ferry terminals to Mull, Colonsay, Tiree,  Arran, Portavadie, Islay & Jura and Gigha within an hour of the village.
