Full Description

LEPHENSTRATH HOUSE
SOUTHEND
CAMPBELTOWN

Idyllically situated on the south coast of  the peninsula at the Mull of Kintyre this splendid COUNTRY HOUSE, once part of the  Carskiey Estate,  is beautifully set in wooded grounds of approximately 4 acres, having panoramic views overlooking Carskiey Bay and beyond to the Atlantic Ocean .  The Irish coastline is only 14 miles away.

Exceptionally well maintained and sympathetically modernised,  the accommodation is  generously proportioned throughout comprising conservatory, wood panelled reception hall, inner hall, sitting room with large bay window and feature fireplace with wood burning stove, farmhouse style dining kitchen with a door leading through to a most spacious utility room.   The fourth bedroom is on the ground floor and is presently used as a family room.   An attractive wrought iron staircase leads to the upper floor having three wonderfully bright airy bedrooms, the master bedroom having a bay window.    There are two shower rooms on the upper floor, the larger of the two is luxuriously fitted out with a large walk in shower compartment and is extensively tiled.

As mentioned the grounds extend to approx. 4 acres which as well as an extensive wood include an attractive tree lined driveway, large area of neat lawn to the front of the house and a Paddock  at the rear.  There is also an extremely useful stone outbuilding which has four compartments mainly used for storage, one of which is a garage.

The village of Southend is 3½miles from the property and is a popular holiday destination in the summer months due to the mild climate, coastal scenery and safe sandy beaches.  For the golfing enthusiast Dunaverty Golf course proves a challenging course as does Machrihanish Golf course and Machrihanish Dunes Golf Course both of which are only a 15 minute drive away from the village as is Campbeltown, which has a good range of shopping facilities, 2 supermarkets, hospital, cinema as well as a large health & fitness centre including a swimming pool.

Machrihanish Airport has twice daily flights to and from Glasgow with an inflight time of less than 30 min.  The ferry from Ardrossan runs from May to September at weekends.
