BRIDGE COTTAGE
STONEFIELD
BY TARBERT
ARGYLL
PA29 6YJ

Bridge Cottage is a recently refurbished, beautifully presented stone built DETACHED 2 BEDROOM COTTAGE in a private setting situated approximately 1 mile north of the fishing village and harbour of Tarbert at the northern end of the beautiful Kintyre Peninsula. The accommodation in this traditional property consists of entrance porch leading to an inner hallway with storage cupboard and stairwell, large bright TV lounge with windows to 2 aspects and a multi-fuel stove on the West gable, open plan kitchen area, through a wide airy opening in to a beautiful dining room and through the other side of this area to a 5m x4m conservatory which, in essence, forms the living room for the property. This magnificent, bright, warm space is ideal for either summer, with both sets of double doors open to the garden, or winter with the heat generated by the winter sun and the electric heating throughout the house. Upstairs you will find 2 double bedrooms with views of the surrounding woodland and countryside together with a family bathroom with white suite and new over bath pump fed shower. The entire property, inside and out, has recently been fully renovated and is finished to the highest standards throughout. You can sit back and watch a variety of wildlife that wanders past the property including deer, red squirrels, pheasants and badgers.  There is an award winning restaurant at the Stonefield Castle Hotel, a leisurely 10 minute wander down the hotel drive, situated opposite the road end leading to Bridge Cottage. Tarbert is a great hub for exploring all that Argyll and the islands has to offer. Within a 30 minute drive of the property there are ferry links to Islay, Jura, Gigha, Arran and Portavadie. The surrounding area is perfect for the outdoor enthusiast with activities like golf, cycling, fishing, walking (100 acres of walks on the door step), yachting, clay pigeon shooting and horse-riding available locally. Bridge Cottage offers the perfect combination of traditional build with modern finish along with the additional bonus of good communications. This property is likely to attract a high level of interest. Please contact our Lochgilphead office to arrange a suitable time to visit and experience the cottage for yourself.

Tarbert has a wide range of amenities including Primary and Secondary education, medical centre, dentist, locally renowned butcher and fishmonger, chemist, hardware store, local supermarket, pubs and restaurants. The surrounding area is a haven for the outdoor enthusiast. There are walks available within the village of Tarbert and beyond with opportunities for cycling, sailing, golf, fishing, bird watching, shooting and diving to name but a few. Within a 45 minute drive or less of Tarbert, there are ferry terminals to Islay, Jura, Gigha, Arran, Portavadie, and Ardrossan The town has a number of festivals throughout the year covering yachting, music, seafood and books being just some of the subjects covered. .Campbeltown Airport is around 45 minutes and Glasgow International Airport approximately two hours drive.  Tarbert is served four times daily (five times at weekends) by the City Link bus route to/from Glasgow/Campbeltown, as well as other local bus routes to surrounding areas.

Garden Grounds: The garden grounds extend to almost one-third of an acre and comprise several different distinct areas. At the house there are flat areas to the front and rear with decking area and terrace to the front and drying area to the rear. The garden runs down a gradual gradient towards the burn that skirts the boundary. There is a nice mix of mature shrubs, fruit trees, palm trees, raised beds and grassed areas with 2 sheds, one with a wood chopping/drying area situated within easy access from the house and the pther a garden tool store. There is comfortably parking for 4 cars to the side and rear of the property without blocking any of them in. The access driveway is well maintained with the majority of the single track road approximately ¼ mile from the main A83 finished in newly laid Tar. The property is fenced in its entirety and would be possible to make dog-safe with little or no extra work.
