Torrisdale is a small village on the eastern coast of the Kintyre peninsula.  Three miles to the north is the ever popular holiday village of Carradale which has 2 hotels, community shop & Post office, Glen Bar & Restaurant, GP surgery with pharmacy, Primary School and most picturesque 9 hole golf course.  At nearby Claonaig there is a regular ferry service to Lochranza on the Island of Arran.

There is a twice daily bus service to and from Campbeltown which is 14 miles to the south having a good range of shopping facilities, two supermarkets, cinema, leisure complex, hospital and Secondary School.  A few miles out of town is Campbeltown Airport which has an inflight time of only 25 minutes to Glasgow.
